Information about care
Food and feeding
These fish should not be kept on a solediet of flakes. Live or frozen brine shrimp, Daphnia, and white worms will provide them with a much more beneficial diet.

Origin
Asia; they inhabit the saltwater swamps and stream estuaries of India, Thailand,Indonesia, Borneo, and Malaysia.

Sexing
Sexing can be difficult until the fish startspawning. The male will then lose his dark bands and take on a yellow body color.

Breeding
These fish breed better in a smalleraquarium with a salt mix of 2tsp/gallon. Provide caves or plant pots for the spawning to take place. The male will coax the female into the spawning site and she will deposit her eggs to the roof and sides. The male will guard the nest until the eggs hatch. Once the fry are free swimming, they can be fed on vinegar eels initially, as they grow, they will accept newly hatched brine shrimp.

Lifespan
The expected life span for this fish is 5-8 years.

Short description
The ventral fins of these fish have fused together to form a cup. This acts as a suction cup so that they can attach themselves to any surface. These fishneed to be kept in brackish conditions.
